On Wednesday we decided to go up to the mountains for a little day trip with Brandon's mom (Barbara) and Alex. We started the drive through the apple orchards of Oak Glen, stopped for some lunch, then headed on to Forest Falls. Growing up, my parents loved to talk about Forest Falls as it was the location of their first date! So, it's always fun to visit this special place. It is so peaceful and beautiful up there with lovely views in every direction. We walked through the creek bed (where Brandon stopped to search for some gold ;)) and then up to the big falls. Brandon had recalled picking black berries as a kid somewhere in Forest Falls, so of course we had to find the place with all of the yummy berries too! :)
